The annual tapk of the Pakura, a Richardson Co's vessel, engaged in the sheep-carrying trade between East Coast ports is now nearing completion, most of the large' movements of sheep having been completed, and the vessel will arrive in Napier to-day week to dismantle her 'tween decks. Each year fche Pakura carries several thousand sheep, saving the necessity of droving them for long distances, particularly those from the Gisborne district to the Waikato, with the result that tbe t.'ansport is completed in faster .time than by the older method. and the' sheep arrive in better condition.
