Gordon Walker, Ltd. Pullets and porkers again sold to exceptionally keen competition at Messrs Gordon Walker Ltd.'s weekly market sale on Saturday before a fine attendance of the public. A full entry of poultry found table .bird values very firm on late rates with a rising market for all classes. Despite the numbers penned more pullets could have been placed at Saturday 's top prices. A further rise was recorded for heavy-weights in the pig section but lighter gorts, unless in a forward condition, eased in value. Dairy stock met au easy market but competition was keen.in the sundries section. Prices were as follow: — Poultry. — Table birds 1/11 to 9/3, W.L. hens 1/11 to 2/10 and 1/6 to 2/4, W.L. pullets 5/- to 7/9 and 3/1 to 5/6, W.L. cockerels 2/- to 3/- and 1/4 to 2/3, B.O. hens 1/11 to 3/3, B.O. pullets 4/5 to 7/3 and 3/3 to 5/-, B.O. cockerels 2/6 to 3/5 and 1/9 to- 2/10, others (hens) 1/6 to 2/8, (pullets) 3/- to 5/-, (cockerels) 1/6 to 2/9, bantams 6d to 8d, pigeons 10d, canaries 4/6, duck and ducklings to 14/-, turkeys 7/- to 9/3, ducks 3/- to 5/8 per pair, Pigs. — Weaners 9/- to 15/6 and 5/tc. 10/-, slips 17/- to £1 4/-, stores £1 to £1 5/6, It. porkers £1 9/- to £1 16/-, porkers £1 12/- to £2 0/6, heavy porkers £2 to £2 10/- lambs to £1 7/-. Dairy stock. — Heifers to £3. 3 Sundries included: L.P. stove £6, gents ' cycles £1 16/- to £4 10/-, spt harrows £6 10/-, bath £1, meat safes 17/6 to £3, sheep and cattle dog £1 10/-, engine £10, 2 carts £2 3/6 and £4, steps 11/-, block 15/-, maize 4/6 to 10/-, 'ihovels 2/- to 5/6 and odd motor parts at full rates. Produce and fruit sold very readi'y at vendors' rares.
