VALENTINE BALL HELD IN MATARIKI HALL

IWhat is claimed to bo the first Valentine ball ever held in New Zealand came to a close after a very suceessful evening in the Matariki hall, Bridge Pa, on the evening of February 24. A large, happy crowd enjoyed themselves immensely1 on a fine floor, with ^lenty of good music. A sit-down oupper was served. The decorations were new and very approgriate for the occasion, the walls being covered with thousands of red and white, large and small hearts. One of the outstanding events of the evening was the crowning of Miss Thompson as the Queen of the Ball. All who attended this function enjoyed themselves to the utmost, and are anxiously looking forward to another sueh ball next year at the Valentine season.
