DOG TRIAL PRIZES
Central H.B. Club Aiwards SUCCESSFUL COMPETITORS At the conclusiqn of the annual trials by th© Central H. B. ^heep Dog Trial Club at Eedcliffe, Taradale, on JTriiday night the presentation Qf the challenge cups and; special prizes was made to the successful competitors by Mrs A, Lopdell. Mr W. Whyte expressed the appreciation felt by the club at the manner in whichi the trials were supported by the many competitors. The tt'ials were an unequalified success and a special word of praise was due to the energetio secretaxy, Mr F. Tong. Votes of thanks were passed to the Dolbel Estat© for again placing its grounds at the disposal of the club. Appreciation was expressed of the splendid order in. which the appointments had been maintained by Mr PhiJlip Dolbel, junr., who acted as timekeeper during the trials. A feature of the trials was the splendid catering which was in the hands of Mr J. Scarrott, of Bay View. The h&ndsome challenge cup presented by Wie Dolbel Estate for competition at the Hawke's Bay Centre annual meeting was on view. This year the cup will be competed for at Wairoa. The winners of the challenge cups and spepial prizes were as under : Mr J. Thom's challenge cup for winner of Class I. — Mr A. Lopdell's Swift. Mr W. Whyte's challenge cup for winner of class II. — Mr A. Spotswood's Boy. Mr J. Donnfelly's challenge cup for winner of Class III. — Mr Fred Tong's Roy (won twice in succession). Mr W. Whyte's challenge cup for dog scoring most points in classes I and II. — -Mr J, Hammond' s Speed. The J. A. McFarlane challenge cup for one dog in Class II and one dog in Class III scoring most points. — Mr R. Engebretsen's Lad and Dick. Mr J. Thom's special. — Mr J. Hammond's Speed. / _ Mr J. Donnelly's special. — Mr M. Harper's Tim. Mr W. Whyte's special. — Mr J. Hammond' s Speed. Messrs McKenzie and McLeod's special.— Mr M. Harper's Tim. Mr E. McDermott's Special.— Mr A. Lopdell. Mr D- Bigger's special.— Class I,. Mr D. Holt ; Class II Mr A. Lopdell, Class III Mr R. McLeod. Williams and Kettle's special is yet to be allotted.
