27 Cinema-goers Injured on Broadway UNION TR0UBLE BLAMED

In an outbreak of labour trouble teargas and stench bombs exploded almost simultaneously due to timing devices in six cinemas in Broadway, injuring 27 by flying glass or gas, one seriously. The management of the theatres, which are part of a chain, denied difficulties with their employees but the police Baid apparently th© trouble was the result of an attempt to organise an ushers' union unaffiliated with the American Federation of Labour.
