Mr R. Moore, Christchnrch, is on a business visit to Hastings and Napifer. Mr E. L. Cullen, M.P., returneA to Hastings by the mid-day train to-day after a tour of the Taupo, Rototua and Main Trunk districts on native affairs. Captain D. Kee, of Christchurch, arrives to-day to hold a week '8 mission for children at St. Andrew's Chutch, Port Ahuriri. Flight-Lieutenant A. de T. Nevill, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, who returned recently, after undergoing a special course at . the Royal Air Force Staff College at Andover, England, has been appointed chief staff officer to the Dirictot of Air Services. The ReV. F, A. Thompson, formerly of Northcote, has been appointed Presbyterian chaplaiu for a period Of 12 months to the Public Works- camps ou the Fast Coast railway line. Major-General Sir W. L. H. SinclairBurgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Militaty Forcea, is attending an artillery camp at Waiouru. He will later visit Rotorua to inspect infantry regiments In cainp there and will then go on to Auckland. He is expected to return to Wellington on March 6. The Governor-General, Viscounfc Galway, returned to Auckland by trtin on Thursday morning after a short Visit to Wellington on cfficial business. He ; was accompanied by Captain B.. Stuart French, A.D.C. His Excellency reioin- : ed the Government Iighthouse steamer . Matai, which left' for the East Coast in the affernoon And is expected to arrive at Wellington on March 6. With Lady Galway he will return to Auckland on March 7 or 8 to go into residence at Government House.
