Accident Between Waipawa And Waipukurau C0LLIS10N WITH LORRY An acc.dcnt on the main road between Waipawa and Waipukurau at 11.25 o'clcck last night zesuited m the death of Jack Clinton Denho, aged 22 years, son of Mr T C. Denne, of Waipukurau. Mr. Denne, riding a motor-cycle, was returning to his home at Waipukurau from Napier and after negotiatmg a bend near Mr W.Maulder's property on the main highway was observed by a lorry approaching from Waipukurau and drivep by Mr F. F. Hildrith. It is stated that as the motor-cycle passed the lorry Mr Denne appeared to lose control of the machine. The headlamp struck the tray of the lorry, the rider being thtown off his balance and striking the rear wheel of the lorry on the right-hand Bide. The inqUest was opened this morning before the district coroner; Mr W. E. Yates. Evidence of identification Was given by the father of the deceased, who stated that he had not seen his son since Thursday evening, when he left Waipukurau for Napier, where he .was to commence work the following morning. The deceased had telephofled to say that he would he home on Friday night for the week-end. The inquest at this stage was adjourned sine die.
