SCHOOLS OPEN MONDAY
No Fnrther Postponement in H.B. Schools in the Hawke'e Bay Education Board district will definitely open *on Monday, and rumoure that the opening date is to be still furtber delayed is without foundation, ancording to inquiries made by the Herald-Tri-bune. In the Southland Education Board area schools will not reopen until Monday week? March 8, as a result of the continuance of the infantile paralysis epidemi c there, but schools in other areas will not be affected by this decision of tbe Education Departoient. The headmasters of the various schools in Hastings have been bnsy enrolling pupils during tlie past tow days, and all is now in readiness for the school year to commence on Monday next. Enrolments are still being continued, and, although the final figures will not be availahle until Monday, it is estimated. that they will show 'stmie in-r-reasfis on last. venr
