Catholic Criticism of Labour Party Conf erence Remits yiGILANCE URGED
(By 'i'elegrapti—
AUCKLAND, This Day. "The influeace of a very aggressive element is discernible in the tone of some of the remits submitted for consideration at the forthcoming aunnal conf erence of the New Zealand Labour Party at Wellington on March 29. Here and there is a frankly Communistic toueh," says Zealandia, the Auckland Catholic fortnightly newspaper, in an editorial. "The situation is charged with danger to the sound Labour movement and calls for watchfulness and prompt action on the part of those who are concerned to preserve the constltutional ideal. The conference indeed seems likely to provide a worthy opportunity for Catholic trades unionisfs to prove their mettle. "
