TWO FLOWER GIRLS AT WAIPUKURAU WEDDING

St. Andrew's Church, Waipukurau, ivas prettily decorated with pink and blue flowers for the marriage of Haze.l Marion, daughter of Mrs Haswell an.d the late Mr Ferguson, Haswell, Nelson street, Waipukurau, to Athol Nicol, sou of Mrs D. Kirk and the late Mr D. Kirk, Hatuma, which ■ took place on Wednesday afternoon. The eeremony was perfonned by the Rev. W. R. Hutchison, and Miss Mavis King presided at the organ, the hymns "The Voice that Breatned O'er Rden" and "God of Hethel" being sung during the service. T'lie bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr ' J. Edelison, Feilding, made a dainty picture in her bridai robe of cream satin, the htting skirt falling Lnto a long train. The booice was fashioned with a cowl neck, and prettily shirred across the shoulders, the back being fastened with tiny buttons from ne-ck to waistline.. The sleeves were long and iightfitting.. A halo , of silver , leaves ahd orange blossoms wero worn with her long veil of sof t cream. lace . and she carried a bouquet of pink carnatidns. Two small flower girls, Shirley and Elaine Pettingell, Waipukurau, attended the bride. They were dreesed alike in pink floral georgette fashioned' with short puffed sleeves, tight-fitting bodices and. long full sMrts. They wore headbands to niatch and carried .Vivtorian posies. * - _ . * ' Mr S. Dunlop, Te Puke, carried out the duti.es of best man.. ' Following the cereinony a, reception was held' at the Ruahine tea-ro.oms, which were chariningly decorated with blue and pink flowers. Th'e guests were received by Mrs John Jensen, Apiti, aunt of the bride, who wa«;assisted by the bride 's grandmother, who wore:a black marocain ensemble and carried' a bouquet of mauve carnations. Mrs Kirk, mother of the bridegroom, was gowned in navy floral crepe-de-chene relied with • a pretty ■ shouldor spray, worn with a hat to tone. When Mr and Mrs Kirk left on their honeymoon, Mrs Kirk travelled in a brown woollen suit, With a smart hat to match.
