RAINBOW SHIELD CARNIVAL
A*t the final - Rainbow Shiold carnival to-morrow at. the Maddison Baths three attempts~on records will be made. D. P. Lindsay (Dannevirke) will make an official attempt on the national record for". the 440* yards at present held by B. Bridson (Auckland), while R. Simon (Dannevirke)^ will' "similarly attack the 100 yards record of R. Frankham (Auckland)". In addition, Miss P. Campbell (Heretaunga) will attempt to reduee the provincial record for the 100 yards. All of these swimmers are at the top of their forin, and each should go very close to making new records. The Heretaunga shield team as as follows: — Junior boys, Downey, Kelt; junior girls, S. Haward; .intermediate boys, Fox, Thompson, Mclvor; intermediate girls, Misses ,P. Campbell, A. Hafnden; women, Misses B. Smith, P. Robertson, M. Shaw;. men, Ashman, Sullivan; div. ing, junior, Carter, McKay, "J. Mclvorr diving, senior, Wright, Thompson,Treacher;.* breastroke, junior, - Kelt, S. Haward; teams, No. 1, McDougall, Hare, Ashman, Catherall; No. 2, Fox, Mclvor, Wrightson (2).
