Cyclone Sweeps Through Native Kraal
ONE GIRL SURVIVES

DUEBAN, Feb. 3. Pive natives and; eight oxen were whirled lOO.feet into the , air and dashed to death ,by a terrific cyclone which swept • through their kraal near Newcastle, Natal. The only survivor of the catastrophe is a 12-year-old native girl who was thrown into a ploughed field, being seriously injured. The body of one of the other victims was found 180 yards from the site of the kraal, the others being found at distances varying from 30 yards to 40 yards away. The mud huts of the natives were ripped from the ground and scattered 20C yards away, while pieces of grassthatch roofs were found three miles away.
