MONTHLY INGLESIDE
Port Caledonian Society The Port Caledonian society held its monthly ingleside in the Bulfalo Hall, Port Ahuriri, last evening. There was again -a large attendance, including a number of visitors. Chief John McConnell, in extendmg a weicome to the visitors, hoped they would cariy back with them to tkeir own towns pleasant memories of the evening spent at the Port ingleside. It was tho aim of the Port society to make its monthly ingleside as nearly like the old-fashioned ingleside as possible, and there was always a weicome for visitors and an evening of music, dancing, and sociability. The pipe band played a "couple of selections in greatly improved style, ehowing the results of recent careful training and steady practice. Exhibi.tion dances were- as 'follow: Highland fling, Misses S. Boa.rdman, M, Smith, G. Smith, J. Smith, E. Gilbertson, and Doreen Hannigan; Bailor 's hornpipe, Miss G. Smith; Sean Truibhas, Miss S. Boardman; song and tap dance (in costume), Miss Eileen Moody; tap dance (in costume), Miss Joyce Moody. Mr D. Lennox and Mr McGuire (Hastings) contributed vocal soloa. The remainder of the' evening was devoted to old-time and modern dancing. Mr and. Mrs Berry provided the mueic for the dance programme, Pipers Lawson and Bergman pipng for the exhibition dances. ' Mr W. J. Key was a most efScient M.C. Supper was served, a very enjoyable evening being brought to a close at midnight.
