' Havelock North Athletic Club EASTER M0NDAY MEETING The Havelock North Amateur Athletic Club has abandoned its sports meeting for this year. This decision was made at a public meeting in the Town Board' Hall on Monday. The sports, meeting was to have been held on Easter Monday. The matter was discussed at.iength, and, while several members were reluctand to agree to the proposal, it was finally considered to be in the best interests of the club because of the number. of counter-attractions set. down for Easter Monday. In..tlie course of the next 12 months it is . proposed to go into the qu.estion of revision of the customary Easter Monday programme with a view to making tlie sports much more attractive from the point of view of the general public. In addition, it is proposed to conduct. a series of dances for the purpose of raising thc necessary funds to enable- the club to conduct the next annual sports inuependent ■ of the support -o'f the tradespeople of Hastings and Havelock North. It w'as decided to hold the annual danc© on Easter Monday, and the Misses Fergusson and May, together j with Mr L. A. Meads and the secre- j tary, Mr H. Bennett, were appointed a j committee to complete the necessary I arrangementa.
