In the Supreme Oourt to-day Mr Jusvice Smith fined Paul Nodwell, single, aged 57, found guilty of arson, £500 and ordered that such sum be paid within two days or he would be detahaad xn priso.n for a period not exeeeding two years. His Honour said prisoner was guilty of a cold, calculated, selfish crime. ile hoped to gain a perfectly new house and had endangered the lives of his neigkbours.
