Slvenpence a Bushel Above Last Year

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Wheat Committee met in Christchurch to-day and fixed the initial prices of buying for 1937 wheat. These prices are 7d a bushel above the initial buying prices paid last year. The prices will be subjeet to a further payment at the end of the season. The Wheat Committee hopes that growers will increase for the coming year and that soine scheme whereby these increased acreages will be shown is now under consideration by the Committee, and the Minister of Industries and Commerce hopes within the next day or two to make a statement in regard to the whole (juestion.
