Mr Don MacErliek, who has been ini the employ of the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Meat Co. at the Whakatu work'S for over 11 years, was farewelled before his departure for Gisborne to tako up his appointment as meat inspeetor, Mr MaeErlick was met by his fellowworkers and presented with a handsom© travelling rug and a (set of engraved silver-backed military hair brushes as a token of the esteem in which he was held. Th© presentatior- was made by Mrs W. Hall, of Whai-.; j, on behalf of th© gathering, and Mr MacErliek 's sterling qualities were tlio subjcct of many eulogistic references.
