Meeting of Commitiee A meeting of the diocesan committee of the Diocese of Waiapu was held on Friday evening. ' Advice was reeeived that Canon W. G. Williams, of Wanganui, "^ho _ has beeu appointed assistant to the Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. 1. A. Bennett, will arrive in Hawke's Bay on March 1 to take up his duties. The committee confirmed the appointmeut of Mr. I. S. Gardiner as diocesan organiser. A legacy of £100 from the estate of the late Miss Isobel Hutchinson, of Gisborne, was reeeived. The amount is to be placed to the capital fund. Two Church Araiy officers have been appointed to work in .the railway camps between Gisborne and Wairoa. The committee reeeived Miss Reswick 's resignation as lady missionary. at Tokomaru Bay. The resignation was reeeived of Canon Mof timer Jones both as a member of the standing coaimittee and oi the board of nominators. Dean Broeklehurst has been appointed to the standing committee and Archdeacon Maclean to the board of nominators. A tender was accepted for the erection of a mission house at Manutuke. The previous building was destroyed by iire in October last.
