Takapau Society Arranges Final Details

TAKAPAU, Last Night. A meeting of the Takapau Caledonian directorp was held on Thursday evening to fix up final details in connection with the sports meeting to be held on Wednesday^ March 3. In the absence of the president, Mr R. A. Fraser^ the vice-president, Mr W. Cuthbertson, presided. The secretary, Mr N. C. Wylie, gave a comprehensive report on the work which had been authorised at a previous meeting and which had all been attended to. JTourteen nominations of new members were received. A grounds comigittee to attend to final details of preparation was set up. The prize money for the consolation jump was increased to first prize £3, second prize £1 10/-. Tenders for ice-cream stall, etc., were accepted. Increased interest iB being evinced in this year's sports gathering, and with a re-modelled popular programme of athletic, cycle, field and horse events, competitors and patrons are being well catered for. The popular Ruahine Pipe Band has been engaged for the day.
