Work has commenced with tho imrroving of the playing grounds at the arkvale Scliool, Hastings, and. a gatig of eight men is now engaged in the laying down of concrete pathways arid other areas, The wdrk is part of the schedul© of works approved of by the Department of Education some nine monthg ago, and will cost in tlie vicinity of £175. When completed, conditiotis will be greatly improved for the children, and in additjon the appear auce of tho achool grounds genernily wtll be enhanced.
