LONDON, Jan. 29. Prices for accommodation on, or near the route of the Coronation proeession are increasing. The highest are bemg paid. for houses or flats, from which a view of the proeession may be obtained. Large sums have also" been paid for houses nearthe Coronation route. Responsible agents, it was stated yesterday, are resistmg a Coronation rents "ramp." Here are some examples of actual "lets" for Coronation Week? WITH VIEW. House in Park-lane. 1500 guineas. Smaller houses in Park-lane, £600 l'latlet in Oxford-street, 80 guiueas. WITHOUT VIEW. Flat in - St. James's-street, £600. JServicc- fiat in Hay market, iJUOgns. Period houses in Belgravia, iOOgns. Flat in Lowndes-squarej £50. Country houst near Winchester (servants and two cars), 450gps. l'lat, iu Curzon-street, Smaii fiat at Brixton, £25. Fantastic ideas of some property owners about rent- obtainable are, nowever, causing house agents anxioty . A leading W est End agent said yesterday: "Vve have on our books a peer who insists on receiving £2,000 for a fortnight' s tenancy of his house in Maylair. This amount has not bteu obtained. ' A member oi the firm of Norfolk and Prior, estate ageuts, of Hay Hill, Maylair, said. "We have opened a special Coronation acconnuodation department, aud huve a i-egister of property available in the West End and Central Lyndon • "We are telling our cuslomers to expect r 40 per cent. increase on normal rent values, -and that is what most receive. There still houses aud flats available. We *re also doing a brisk business in Coronation seats. at prices from five to 25 or 30 guineas." A member of another leading Mayfair firm of estate agents said: "There are many rumours about tho fabulous prices being. paid for Coronation accommodation — Mr Charles C'haplin is said to liave paid £1,000 a week for a house — but we have not been abJe to substantiate them. Actually we can provide acr"ommodation to suit most purses."
