R.A.F, Plan Night Coronation Spectacle THRILL FOR VISITORS '
LUJNDUN, Jan. 26. Air Mini-itry chiefs are considering a spectacular night- time "fly-past" of massed R.A.F. squadrons bver Londou as part of Coronation celebratiogs. The 'planes, swiit day-bombcrs, huge night-bombers, ican figliters aud chasers, would, they thinx, give Londonts millions of visitors a treiliendous thrill as they roared above the City pieked out against the night sky iike silver moths, in the glare of batteries of Territorial Brigade se&rchlights. It, is rtalised that most of the celebrations will take, p.lace after dark, and for this*"' reason, apart from the added. effe'et/ the ."Uy-pust" would oe most suitable at. night. The R.AiF.'s annual Hendon dispJay comes in t'he - middle of the Gore nation celebrafions, Jane 26. It will be on the fisual extensive 3 scale. The "fly-past" would. enable many- who will not .see the di'splay "to catch something of its thrills. - The idea ia preferred to a royal review'.by. the King, since it would not interffere • with the expansion programiue,. already behindhaud, or with t he training organisation. It would need only one or two mass rehearsals to synchronise the speeds of squadrons, und units could remain at hoinc stations unfiil immediately before the fligbt For a review, 'squadrons must be massed at one station away from "their duties-for days before the ceremony.
