Ewe Market Eases

STORIFORD FAIR ftices 4/- to 5/- Down on First Sale TO-DAY 'S REALISATIONS A drop in the market of from #/- to 5/- a head took place at toewe fair at Stortford Lodge When compared with the values of- • fered at the first fair a fortnight ago. An easier market was anticipated in view of the easing tend- . ency in values at Waipukurau. To- • day's yarding totalled 45,000, in- ' cluding all ages of sheep, of which • about one-third consisted of younss ; eorts. The selling this morning was at times veiy erratic, and on the basis of quality was difficult to follow. The top price during the earlier portion of the sellIng was 38/9 for an attractive entry of two-tooths offered on account of Clareinch Siatfon. The best five-year-olds, well mouthed, tnade to 25/6. Poorlymouthed lines were slow to sell to 20/-. Inferior lines suitable only as fattenIng propositions sold as low as 14/r. • Several well known farmers consider•d that to-day'a prices approached more reasonable trading levels. The high westerly winds experienced over the last few days had dried up eertain districts, with the result that farmers wero a little nervous of the prospects «f their pastures.
