(Received 19, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 18 John Brownlee, the singer, made his debut in "Rigoletto" and_ was wann- : ly received by a large audience. The New York Times says it was a pleasure to recognise, as soon as Mr Brownlee appeared, a singer that had not only a routine part well in hand but a consistently proportionately developed conception of the character-, which was reinforced with a voice of good quality and the style of a musieian.
