QHRISTOHDRCN, This Day, An enthusiaatic admiror of tRe Prime' Minister, thq Kt, Hon, M, J Savage, hpisted the Irish flag on the stpamer express wharf at Lyttelton this morning as fche Wahine was hringing Mr Savage on his first official visit to the South Island. As the ship moved to her ber-tb chesrs were lustily given by « fairly large parfy on the 'wharf, It was a hearty and spontaneous weleomq* to Mr Savago on his arrival at the gateway qf the S.outh Island. On behalf of the citizens of Lyttelton, the Mayor, Mr F. 0. Sutton, extended a hearty welcome to Mr Savage, saying that Lyttelton- was pleased to have the honour of being the first to give him a welcome in the South Island.
