The stdry is set in the cniddle of the nine* teenth century in the Italian Duehy of Lucco, a music-loving country whose Princess Regent is at her wits} end to satisfy the demands of the Austrian Ambassador who has come to collect a national debt. As a last resource she banishes music froin the land Untii the debt is paid. Then Mario Carlini, Luceo's worid'famous tenor, arrives on the scene. He defies her .ban, and she is furious, but an accidental tneeting with the galden-voiced tenor proves hioi to be charming, and the Princess linds herself falling in love with the man who has presuined to flout her authority. Carlini incites the peopie to revolt, but ultimately a pian is evolved by whifch every&ne, mciuding the Princess, is made happy ever after. Di&ha Napier plays this importuut ttile opposite Tauber. Finally To-night. "China Clipper i ' concludes tomight. Pat O'Briea and Ross Alexander are the stars in this story of the air-liners on the Pacific routg.
