That, having thoroughly investigated the whole matter, and meanbers having ikdividually expressed their Opinionit was decided that thei services of the inanagikg secretary shouid he retained for a three-months prbbationary pefiod, the' matter to be again reviewfed at the May meeting of the board/' The foregoing is the officiaj. state ment issued to the Press by the Waipawa Hospital Board after its meeting held in committee yesterday afternoon to consider certain happenings which had taken place smce the previous meeting. Mr E. A. Fraser, .deputy-chairman of the board, walked out of the meetixig. Mr Fraser, ih an interview with a Herald-Tribune representative this inorning, said that he had handed in his reSignation as a member of the board and had left the committee in'eeting because he was dissatisSed with the way in which the chairman, Mr W, H. Eathbone, had conducted the inquiry. He did hot wish to say any more than that at this stage. An auditor of the Health Depaftment was at the Waipukurau Hospital offices yesterday.
