INSTITUTE GARDEN PARTY HELD AT WAIPUKURAU
A delightf ul garden party arrahged by the members • of the Waipukurau Wopien's Institute was held at -Mxs G. Bromell's residence, Porangahau road, Waipukurau, on Wednesday afternoon. The- well-kept garden -waa looking very beautif ul with if s wealth of summer flowers, biit unfortunately owing to a boisterous wind the "many competitions which had been arranged could' not all be held in the garden, so many of them were held on the wide verandahs. There also was arranged a bring and bny stall in charge of institute members, which did- a brisk trade all the afternoon. ; Refreshing afternoon tea daintily arranged on small tables was served indoors. At the close of the afternoon, Miss Winlove, acting-presxdent, on behalf of the institute,. thi&nked Mr and Mrs Bromell for lending their home for the occasion, and all institute members for the v-aluable assistance rendered.
