Mrs. E. W. Haldane has returned to Lower Hutt after spending several weeks with. her sister, Mrs. K. T. Chute, Horton, Tikokino. Mrs. S. Howard, Oroua Downs, Foxton, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. Parsons, Norsewood. Mrs. Bird, Oroua Downs, is staying for a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Cristensen, SOuth Norsewood. Mr. F. W. Smith, who has been visit* ing Dannevirke, returned to Napier on Saturday. Mr G. E. Fowler, secretary-manager of the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board, has returned to Waipukurau from a fishing trip in the Taupo d.istrict. Information has beeil received from Sydney that Miss Patricia Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Nelson, of Woodville, is making satisfactory * progress after the operation she had to undergo recently. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson are still in Sydney to be with their daughter.
Mr Ronnie Mogridge, Napier, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr antl Mrs W. Mogridge, Apatu street, Wairoa. Mr and Mrs T. M. Connell, Wairoa, were visitors to Gisborne last week, staying with Mr and Mrs H. B. Williams, Turihaua Station. Messrs J. and L. Ingorson, Taihape, are visiting the Morere Hot Springs. Nurse Malcolm, of the. Plunket Society, is to be farewelled on Friday afternoon in Wairoa. She proceeds to England to take a post-graduate course Mrs T. Hutchinson, who wil] soon be leaving Wairoa, was the subject of a presentation at St. Peter's Church on Sunday evening, after some eulogistic referenees by the Rev. Father Doherty to her services to the church. Recent visitors at St. Peter 's Catholic Presbytery, Wairoa, wero: Rev. Father M. Curley, D.G., Rev. Father L. Callahan, S.M. Rev. Father L. O'Connor, Rev. Dr. Frank Walsli, Rev. Deacon J. Pound, and the Rev. Bro. Lce.
