(Received 16, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 16. , New Soutli Wales put up a startling performance to dismiss Englafid for a paltry 73. To put it mildly, it was a feeble display of batting. Nobody showed any liking for Lush's erratic deliveries. The batsmen showed no fight and did not seem to care. Lusli statted off with two for 7. Both wicketa were obtained with bumping deliveries. He immediately tried some bumpers yesterday and it seemed to mo that the batsmen were apprebensive, being unsettled and jumpy. As usual when someone performs a sensational -i'eat, tliere were people who immediately press for his inelusion in the next Test side. If Lush. gets in on this showing, Chilvers must accompany hioi, for Chilrers bowled very weli, making the ball turn and , keeping perfect lexigtb. One run was scored from liis first over and it was not till his seventh fliat another came — a wonderful feat for a leg-break bowler, especially as, in the meantime, he took four wickets. * I do not want to be misunderstood. Lush's was meritorious work and, if he is as successful against South Australia fiext week-end, he may be considered for the fifth Test. He was faster than any of the English bowlers in this mateh. Even ailowing for ihe fact that the bowling was absolutely first-clasa, the batting was bad for * an English side, which should have risen superior tO conditions. Mention should be made of two etumpings by Oldfield. He had the bails oS like lightning when Sims went over the line for a split seeond when playing for ward, but he had plenty of time to stump Robins. McCabe delighted me with his easily execUted shots,- Some of his cover drives looked like mere pushes, but were so well timed and went so. sweetly off the bat all along the ground that thfey easily reached the boundary. There was a poor erowd again. I eannot think what is the matter with Sydnejr crieket followers. Are they losing interest in the game? It appears eo, judging by the poor attendances hero this tour, especially when one reinembers the huge crowds at the Melbonrne Test. [Deseription and scorea on page 1.1.1
