Says Mr Lassen MEMBERS' QPEST10NS Further reference to the X-ray films missing frOxu cfio Napier Publie Hospital was made at the monthly meeting of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board yesterday afternoon, when, in answer to Mr O. O. Morse, Mr G. Lassen, the chairman, advised members that the matter had not been dropped and that further consideration would be given to it at an early date. Some time ago the Hospital Board appointed a special eommittee to go into tfie question of missing X-ray filfiis, the matter having been raised in open board by Dr, J. Allan Berry, One oi the deeisions of the b$ard was to place the matter in the hands of the police. '•'Was any letter received from tho Police Department?" asked Mr Morse yesterday. Mr Lassen; No. Mr Moree: I take it that the eommittee is still considering this matterf Mr Lassen: Yes. * Mr Morse: Then can that eommittee meet fairly soon? I would like it to be this week, if possibie, and I waut to attend. Mr Lassen replied that the eommittee could probably hold a meeting during the present week. Mr C. Duff: I'm -not on that eommittee, but it- seems to me — — - Mr Morse: I'd like Mr Duff to be «n the eommittee, as I would like him to know one or two things. Dr. Berry: Do you say that the polico wrote no letter? Mr Lassen: Yes, that is so. Mr Duff: Mr Chairman, if this matter was taken in eommittee, should we ask questions in open boardf Dr. Berry: I take it the police have not completed their inquiries? Mr Lassen: The eommittee decided to carry the matter nO further. Dr. Berry: I want to know why the matter has been withdrawn. Mr Lassen: It has not been withdrawn at all.
