PALMERSTON N., Thie Day. Sutton James Hemmings, aged 31, of Umutoi, suffered a fracture of the skull ■when the car he was driving overturned on the Palmerston North- Ashhurst road yesterday afternoon, and ciied in hospital The father of the deceased, who was aecompanying him, wan unhurt, It is believed that the tie-rod became loose and the car wobbled from side to side and then turned aver. It is thought that a lifting jack in the car struck the deceased on the head.
