Big Store-Sheep Entry The weekly stock sale conducted by the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers ' Association at the Matawhero saleyards attracted a good attendance of local buyers. There was a big yarding of store sheep. Up to the luncheon adjournment values for lambs not first cla&s were easier. • BEEF. Fat cattle of dairy type, rather not well finished were offered in the beef section. The demand was good, the entry selling readily. A heavy black cow made £5 5/-, good Jerseys £3 15/- to £4 4/-, heifers to £6 5/- for a P-A. and £5 f.or a brindle. Prices: — Cows. — 4 Jerseys, medium, £2 17/6; 1 plain Hereford, £4; 1 black, £3 7/-; 1 plain Jersey, £2 3/-; 2 Jerseys, £3 10/-; 3 Jerseys, £4 4/-; 4 .Jerseys, £3 10/-; 4 Jerseys, £4; 2 medium Jerseys, £3 4/-; 2 Jerseys, £3 10/-; 4 Jerseys, £2 17/-; 1 Jersey, £2; 3 good Jerseys, £3 17/-; 4 young Jerseys, £3 15/-; 4 ditto, plain, £2 11/-; 1 Jersey, £3 14/-; 1 weighty black, £5 5/-; 1 J ersey, £2 7/-; 2 Jerseys, £3 15/-; 3 Jerseys, £3 5/-. Heifers. — 1 brindle, £5. Mixed sorts. — 1 good brindle Hereford steer, £6 11/-; 5 Jersey runner steers, £2 16/-; 1 Jersey, medium vealor, £2; 1 P.A. heifer, £6 5/-; 2 Jersey heifers, £2 10/-. i FAT SHEEP. Just over 100 fat sheep were yarded. Ewes with good moutbs to 22/6, otherwise, 17/5 to 20/-. Prices: — Ewes. — 20 at 17/5; 5 Southdowns, 22/4; 7, . 19/2; 5, 6, and 8-th, 21/-; 6, 22/6; 25 heavy, 20/-; 38,. 18/^ STORE SHEEP. There was a large entry of store sheep. Prices: — • Lambs. — Ewes: 44, small, woolly, active, 17/1; 49, big, good condition, woolly, 24/1; 132, eiiorn, big, sturdy, first cia&3 lot, 20/10. Five and six-year ewes. — 94, guaranteed, frame and condition, ;21/-; 66, even moutha, frame and condition (p), 18/-. Mixed age ewes.- — 100, 4-th to 5-yr, good store condition, 24/8; 42, fairly good mouths, good order, 17/-; 144, good teeth, medium to light condition, 19/6; 103, from Otoko, good mouths, light condition, 20/1; 99, 4, 6, and 8-th, good store condition, 24/4; 106, 4 and 5-yr, good store condition, 20/6. Wethers. — 116, 2-ths, store condition, high-country, medium size, 22/1; 133, good frame, with condition, 24/3; 22, 2-th, small to average size, store condition, 22/7; 161 well-grown, good order, 23/6; 86, 4-th, good size and condition, 25/-. Wether lambs. — 235, good size and condition, woolly, 17/3; 361, good size, fresh 'Downs, 19/1; 109, short, good frame, medium condition, 17/-; 53, shorn, fairly good size and condition, 17/-; 209, shorn, with frame and condition, 20/9; 32, big, woolly, good order, 17/4; 198, shorn, a good pen, straight line at 18/-. Aged ewes.— 72, good condition to forward, 15/2; 46, medium condition, 12/-; 41, light, medium condition, 12/5. Two-tooth ewes. — 62, late shorn, fairly good sizo, 27/6; 141, good size, with condition, 32/1. Young ewes. — 43, 6 and 8th, size and condition, 27/6. Six-year ewes. — 441, good lusty type, medium mouths, 21/9; 561, good ewes, from the coast, 21/-. Ewe lambs. — 63, . shorn, fairly good size, Leicestera, 18/3; 58, shorn 'Down^, good order, 16/6; 61, well-grown, good condition, woolly, 22/8.
