JAPANESE BUDGET
Army and Navy Demands Reduced EFFECT 0F RECENT CRBIS (Beceived 13, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 12. The Times* Tokio correspondent says; "Cabinet has approved the revised Budget, totalling 2,769,000,000 yen, which is 460,000,000 yen more than last year but a saving oi 270,000,000 yen compared with the prqvious Cabinet's Budget. - The army and navy have each reduced their demands 23,000,000 yen and the Home Office has cut off 162,000,000, chiefly sacrificing proposed grants for rural relief, which iB likely to be vigorously criticised, Whether the retrecchmeut is due to the contention that rising prices will foster social dnrest or the widespread unpopularity of tha army encountered at tha recent crisis, it reassures coininercial circles and ensures public confidenco that the Government is modifving the proposed tariff increases.
