Defendant Later Arrested in Hotel PLACED IN LOqC-UP When Phillip Neil Partridge, aged 55, of Hastings, fpiled to appear in tfie Hastings Court this morning to face a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car, a warrant was immediately issued for his arrest. Shortly afterwards defendant was located in an hotel in Heretaunga street. He was taken to the station, where he was loeked up. He was to appear before Justices this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The defendant was arrested last night, and after being charged at the police station he was released on bail of £25 so that he could secure medical attention for an injured hand. When Messrs A. C. A. Hyde and A. J. C. Runciman, JVP.'s, arrived at the Court this morning to hear the charge, the defendant made no. appearance. Sergeant Mclntosh then aslced for a warrant for the arrest of the accused, which was immediately issued and aeted upon.
