The Baby Hippopotamus, Good progress is being made by the baby hippopotamus which wras born to Chucka and Bella at the Auckland Zoological Gardens on Wednesday morning. Memorial Neglected Complaint at the neglect of the Clive War Memorial was expressed to tho Herald-Tribune to-day by a returned soldier, who said that it was an insult to the memory of those who fell in the War. "The area surrounding the memorial is overgrown with weeds, and the general appearance is one of neglect," he said. "I do not know who is responsible for taking care of this memorial, but whoever it is is falling down on the job. The memorials in the other parts of the distriet at Havelock North and Taradale are well looked after and show that the memorials are remembered, but the Clive monument is a disgrace."
