CROQUET CLUBS ENTERTAINMENT AT HAVELOCK NORTH

A most pleasant competibion afternoon was spent at the Havelock North Croquet Club's greens on Thursday, when Mesdames Logan and Smith, president and secretary, respectively, of the Hawke's Bay Croquet Association were present, as well as members of" the Port Ahuriri, Wairere, Heretaunga, Omaranui and Hastings Clubs. At the conclusion of the day's play, Mrs Wilson, president of the Havelock North Club, congratulated the winners on their successes and presented the prizes as follows : Golf Croquet — Mrs Logan (Port Ahuriri) 1, Mrs Aislabie (Wairere) 2. One-Ball Break : — Mrs Esson (Hastings) 1, Mrs Arkins (Hastings) 2. Squares: — Mrs Ritchie (Havelock N.) 1, Mrs Esson (Hastings) 2. Skittles: — Mrs Anderson (Havelock N.) 1, Dudley Hall (Havelock N.) 2. Trail : — Miss Carrington (Hastings) 1, Mrs Duke (Havelock N.) 2, Angles: — Miss Millichant (Hastings) 1, Mrs Arkins (Hastings) 2. "Taipo": — Mrs Brunton (Havelock N.) 1, Mrs Ebbet (Hastings) 2.
