MONTGOMERY TO RETURN TO SCREEN

Robert Montgomery, regardless of hia screen stardom, has not deserted tho stage, and he never will. "fWhen I finish my new picture 1 shall take my annual three months ' vacation;" he said. "I had my fill of Europe last year, so I shall remain content by enjoying myself on my farm in Putnam Couiity, New York. "Sfcrangely enough, the name of our iarm is. just /The Earm.' It's the fmest place in the world for me. You know, we have three thousand acres only sixty miles from New York, bufc it is at) isolated that it might as wcll be six thousand. "The farm and its location are ideal m many respects. It is so close to the eity of New York. I like to arrive in late summer and spend the fall there, chiefly because of the New Yorlc tiieatricai season. "1 can reach New York by a short aaunt, motoring down there to speud Tuesday, Wednesday and. Thursday of each week in the city viewing the new plays.. • * Contrary to some beliefs, I have never . deserted the stage, and I honestly intend to return to the stage. 1 made my first success in stage proauetipns, and I have a soft spot-in my heart for the footlights and the personal contact with appreciative audiences. "The remainder of my weeks snall be spent on the farm. Only members of my own family occupy the three thousand acres, and it is a little kingdom of its own. The State has sought to extend public highways through the property but we have been able to prevent it so far."
