West End and Heretaunga Draw
WIN T0 METHODIST The mid-week cricket competition was continued in Hastings yesterday, when two games were played under ideal conditions. The matches were one-day fixtures, and there were some bright batting performances during the 'afternoon. Only one of the games was decided, Methodist defeating TJnited on the first innings by 55 runs. In the other game West End and Heretaunga drew. Details of the games are as follow; — Methodist v. TJnited — Batting first, Methodist oompiled the good score of 203 (Wilkins 63, Sadler 31, F, Gosnell 23, Linyard 14, Tunnicliffe 13, Davidson 13, Curry 13 not out; Fowled four for 46). United replied with 148 (Mahoney 71, McNab 17, Fowler 18, Brimer 15, Crosley 14 not out, Dunn 12; Wilkins four for 71). West End v. Heretaunga.— Making first use of the wicket, West End made 209 (Hallagan 88, Tacon 47, Orr 18, McDonald 11, Rosenberg 11 not out; Waymouth four for 32, Shuker four for 68). In reply, Heretaunga lost only four wickets for 160 when time was ealled (Giorgi 59 not out, Kitt 50 not out, Sinclair 38 : Martin three for 30).
