NEW VICAR WELCOMED
Havelock North Social Despite counter-attractions, parisliionors of St. Luke's Church, Havelock North, responded in force to the vestry's invitation to a social on Tuesday evening with the objeet of weleoming the Rev. Stephen Waymouth and Mrs Waymouth to the parish. The j'^OGeedings were under the capable direetion of Mr P. C. Ritchie, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Mr P. F. Hunter, on behaif of the parishioners, extended a hearty wqlcome to tli6 new viear and his wife, to which Mr Waymouth responded in a very happy speech. A very pretty posy was presented to Mrs Waymouth by Mrs Bogle on behaif of the Mothers' XJnion. Subsequently Miss Fos delighted those present by her rendering of a number of violin solos. Miss D. Buckingham sang charmingly. Mrs Blair very kindly accompanied in her eustomary able manner. Thauks to the exertions of a capable ladieh' committee, tlie hall looked its best. After supjier Mr F. Tomoana, on behaif of the Maori residents in the parish, added a few words of welcome.
