Dissatisfaction With Method of Tender
(By Teleerraph—
WELLINGTON, Last Night. Dissatisfaction with the practice ,of the Government Stores Control Board in uo.t disclosing to the unsuccessful tenderers the prices of the successful tenders was expressed by the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce to-day. The secretary of the Stores Control 'Board wrote st'ating that, in view of the favourable prices quoted by tenderers who stipulated that their prices must be treated as confidential, the board was firmly of the opinion that it' would not be in the interests of the Dominion to disclose particulars of the prices paid for stores. • ' The meeting expressed the view that it was in the public interest that such prices should be made available. The public was entitled to know " how its money was being; spent. ^ It.was resolved that the Minister of Public Works be written to on the subject.
