Spectacular Whirlwind.

The crowds which thronged the beaches at Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, on fcSUnday were trcated to the un usual spectacle of a giant whiriwind which, commencing in. the vieinity of the tennis courts, continued along to the esplanade, throwing np great clouds of dust, rubbish and f allen leaves, Although the Whiriwind faded ih a few minutes it attracted considerable attention and was s'o great in sizo that it could be seen from points almost two miles away.
