Selection of New Zealand Singers

WELLINGTON, Last Night. It was announced by the Prime Min-1 istor (Mr. Savage) to-day that after| consultation with the Associated Choralj 'Societies of New Zealand the followingj will be recommended for inclusion inj 'the Coronation choir which will sing at| Westminster Abbey during the Oorona-' tion ceremony: — Soprano, Madam Win-' nie Fraser, Dunedin; contralto, Miss) jChristina Young, Wellington; tenor,j Mr. Gordon Fagan, Auckland; baritone,j Mr. F. W. Wilsoii, Dunedin. In thei ,event of the Master of the King's| Music agreeing to the inclusion of aj fif th voice Mr. Hubert Carter, of Christchurch, will be recotomended. In casej any of those selected for recommenda-i tion being unable to accept the invita-' tion the vacancies will be filled from tbe following: — Soprano, Miss F. White, Dunedin; contralto, Miss L. L. Corrigan, Tauranga; baritone, Mr. Denis Dowling, Dunedin. With the exception of Mr. Fagan, who is still in New Zealand, all those' selected are at present either in England or on the wa y there.
