Car Goes Over Bank. When a car in which they were travelling crashed over a bank on the Waione-Pongaroa road during the week-end, Mr Williams and family of Waione had a narrow escape from in» jury. No-one wsa seriously injured Ormondville Golf Club. The annual meeting of the Ormondville District Golf Club was presided over by Mr Searle Ellingham. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr L. G. Wright; president, Mr Searle Ellingham (re-elected) ; vicepresidcntft, Messrs F. J. Sands,.H. B. Nevvling and T. Fothergill; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. C. Ncwling; tni«lee, Mr C. "VVilliams; club captain, Mr Basil Ellingham; ladies' captain, Mr.s W. A. Trask; management coinniittee, Messrs H. O. Baines, A. E. Edgecombe, W. Barclay, C. Williams; W. Ellingham, W. Kane, and W. A. Trask; handicap committee, Messrs J. Madson, 31. O. Baines and A. E. Edgecombe: grounds committee, A. E. Edgecombe and H. Sands; ladies' secretary, Mrs D. Dew; auditor, Mr Studd; greenkeeper, Mr John Fitzgerald (re-elect-ed). Wairoa Carnival Ends. There was a record crowd in Wairoa on Saturday night ■when Wairoa 's 1937 carnival concluded amid colourful surroundings. Up to the time of elosing the shops good business was being done all round. The night was cairn, and the river like a ^ea of glass.
