Australia Agrees to Use of Flying-Boats OPENS JANUARY j, 1936 (Eeceived 9, 8.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 8. Details of the Empire air mail agreement were announced by the Commonwealth Government tonight. The Bfitish Government has approved of the Commonwealth r«talning control of the SingaporeSydney section while the Common- . wealth has agreed to flylng hoata being used on this section lor two years, but if these prove unsatisfactory the agreement will he reviewed thereafter. The agreements which provides for a surcharge of fivepence per half-ounce on outgoing mail, will run for 15 years. The service is expected to opsrate as from January 1, 1938.
