Tbe newspaper "The People" says: "The British Government at the Imperial Conference will request £10,000.000 from the Dominions for defence, It will also asb New Zealand, Anstralia, Canada and South Africa to build up their own navies, air forces and armies to a strength enaWing them to defend their own homes and leave a snrplus to help the mother country. "It will be made clear that the Imperial navy is fully occupied in defending Britain and safeguarding sea 'routes. "It is understood that Britain, in return, will take more goods from the Dominion's, especially foodstuffs."
