Midnight Fatality At Rangiora

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Ueotfrey Kear Hawkins, single. upecl 27 years, ox Ashley street, Raruioia, died in the Christchurch Hospita! this morning from ceTre head injuries received shortly af ter midnight in n h vel crossing accident at llangirTa. Hawkins, who was a stoek ag«-tu lor H. Matsori and Conipany, at Raugi ora, was driving in an easterly diieetion down High street. He drove over the crossing into a passing train. Hawkins was found 12 yards from the poinij of impact. The crossing sigjnal. bell waa ringing *t ihe time of the accident.
