Aquatic Sports Events Because of tho inclement weather prevailing on Thursday evening, Ihe aquatic sports scheduled for that even-' ing were held to-night, when conditione were a little improved, although it was not warm enough to draw any coinpetitors for the girls' events. The events were held between the bridge and the launeh landing in front of Oslers, and there was a large crowd of people lining the river-banlt. Torchlight Procession. A large crowd of people witnessed the fancy arosa tprchlight procession, headed by the Wairoa Municipal Band, the members of which were all in fancy dre&s. The band wa,s followed by the people in fancy dre&s, each one carrying a torch. The procession started at the Bank of New Zealand eorner and traversed the Marine Parade to Osler's hall, where the judging took place.
