He expressed the opinion that pacifio •agitation was increasing the danger of war. The Assembly passed a resolution regognising the Government 's right to maintain the necessary defeiice forces itnd stating that Christians may bear arms for that policy, The Biflhop of London declared that the real dangers to peace were paeifists, "There is po great danger of war if jte are strong enough," he declared. "If we adopted the view of paciflsts in 1914 fcither a German eoiperor or Herr Hitler would now be at Whitehall. I would *ather die than see bombs dropping on children while W© stood by doing fcothing."
