GEILGUD'S HAMLET
John Gielgud's "Hamlet" has been received with remarkabie warmth by New York critics. Robert Benchley, the well-known critic and essayist, wrot© of it: " . . . a Hamlet that you will remember — intelligent, sensitive and at times inspired to the point of lifting your orcliestra chair a few inches off the chair with you in it." An interesting feature of this presentation of "Hamlet"is that Lilian Gish — do you remember her in the silent films? played Ophelia. New York was to have seen Leslie Hofvard, the screen Romeo to Norma Shearer's Juliet, as Hamlet at the end of last year, following close on Gielgud's presentation of him.
